Controlling
Access to Digital Content
While digital
technology has given publishers
the ability to distribute their
content anywhere in the world
almost instantaneously, this same
powerful capability allows recipients
to easily re-distribute content
with or without publishers consent.
ReaderAccessGateway
is a web based technology that
requires readers to be authenicated
before being allowed to actually
view any of the contents of magazooms
they have on their desktop. While
there are no means available to
prevent digital content from being
circulated without permission
once it leaves a server, magazooms
can be enabled to deny readers
the ability to view contents without
being duly authenticated.

Once
successfully logged-n the user
can be granted access for varying
lengths of time. They can be granted
permanent access from the computer
they used to successfully log-in,
or they can be required to log
in each time they open magazooms.
In either case,
once magazooms leave the authorized
users computer, it will require
a new log-in. |
